Omnivore's Dilemma: Young Readers' Edition Ch. 19
Precis: Animals happines matters to alot of vegetarians, this is because they see an animals life as precious as human lives so you could imagine why vegtarians so this as a crime. However the people killing the animal doesn't see killing a animals life as precious as others might and it appears as though they have no problem doing it, but they dont seem satisfied doing it because they try to keep what goes on in the slaughterhouse a secret. In addition not everybody knows that vegetarians actually take sacrifices being a vegetarian because many of his friends may be meat eaters. This thus leads to unfomfortable eating with friends and even becoming a birden to family or friends.
Quote: On page , "As a guest, if I forget to tell my hosts in advance that I don't eat meat, they feel bad. But if i do tell them, they'll make something special for me, and i'll feel bad."
Thoughts: I believe that this is really bad luck to the vegetarians, that so many people are carnivores. But i also believe that some sacrifices need to be made when being healthy. Also in the long run being a vegetarian would be the better choice.
