HW 25 - Response To Sicko

Summary:America's health care system is not really meant to help the people of the United States get better. These medical centers wont even help insured people. They only care to help the health insurance companies make more money by reducing the amount of care that the people recieve. There are many people in America without any health care whatsoever and for the people that do have health care they are still treated as if they are without healthcare. This is because these insurance companies want money and will charge these people huge amounts of money for operations. To make matters worse often times they will even deny patients the medical help they need in order to stay alive because those medical companies dont want to give up the money the have. Which is a corrupt way of looking at things because in other countries such as France, and England they dont charge you for medical help including almost all the treatments the patient needs  to stay alive.

A: Michael Moore's first piece of evidence to bolster his argument in Sicko was denying the people of medical help when they had health insurance 
Michael Moore's second piece of evidence to bolster his argument in Sicko was how other countries have better healthcare where all the doctors work for the government and actually give as much medical care they need to give their patients while still getting paid a good amount of money.    
B: These pieces of of evidence was important for supporting his thesis because theses points needed to be made across and known that our insurance companies are scamming us and care more about money then they care about us. It also is important because it lets us know how our medical system and health insurance compare to other countries medical system and health insurance, and as you know we dont compare to other countries medical system because America's big insurance companies are so greedy and want money.

This piece of evidence is very legite and very accurate. It explains how C.E.O's are denying we the people's health care just  so theyt can make huge amounts of money.
Response:
         The most important excerpts of the movie that i watched was when they were talking about how these big insurerance companies are getting rich off of declining us of the medical care we need. The ideas that struck me the most was actually finding out how bad our health system is. It's amost as if there is nothing left in america that's sane and isn't involved with big companies getting money. The feelings that struck me as most crucial is when they showed that they declined a child of health care simply because the big insurance companies didn't want to loss there money. This movie did affect my perspective on the dominant social practices around illness & dying in our culture because it shows that no one is really going to help you. This movie also made me realize that the people that know you may feel pity on you however the ones that can help you become more healthy and better would rather let you die because they think money is more important then a life.
